Developmental Drafts-Preliminary-Task-Contents Draft

Contents Developmental Draft

When creating my first developmental draft for contents page, this is what I produced. I am going to evaluate it myself and also get my peers to evaluate it so that I can imporve my first draft and make it more attractive for what the audience wants. I will find out what improvements are needed from my peers and use there ideas within my second draft/Final version. I will also keep the ideas which the audience thinks are good and attractive to make my final draft the best possible.

Kieran Cottingham

The layout of the first developmental product is suitable as it is clear to the audience each different article and the images are deffined by the number that is placed on them which is placed by the article itself aswell. In the bottom left hand courner of the contents development draft there is some dead space and this does not follow the codes and conventions of a magazine. It also makes that part of the draft look boring and unattractive, this could be solved by simpling adding an attractive icon which could also be iconography for sport or winter due to the fact it is a winter edition.

Harry Stone

I really like the layout of the contents page, it is effective and attractive to the audience because it follows the codes and conventions of a contents page. The images that he has used are attractive and influence the audience into using the magazine. I do however feel that the pictures could be more vibrant, or made to stand out more. This could be done by adding a shadow or a white outline so that it stands out on the black background. I do like the background, the snowflakes make the background intriguing. The masthead could also be made more  attractive, at the moment I feel that it is quite boring, a different colour would improve this. However I do like the effect of the shadow behind the masthead, which makes it eyecatching.

Kayleigh Roberts

I really like the layout of this page as it is not too crowded and also there is not too much text, the images are clear and suitable and the background is effective. Another good point about this draft is the mirrored text at the top right hand corner, I think that is very effective and it draws attention. One bad point is that there is a small gap in the bottom left hand corner that could be filled with either more text or a picture.
